Karen has been a registered nurse for 33 years, working in acute care, school health, education, and child advocacy. During her time in child advocacy, Karen recognized that many teen girls were given used bras while they were in care. She founded Boost Girls in Care in February 2018. She is dedicated to public health and vulnerable populations. She graduated with her Doctorate degree from Carlow University in 2020 where her scholarly project examined healthcare provider bias and barriers to treatment. Karen is also a grandmother to three!
Marissa is a sophomore nursing major at the University of Pittsburgh. She is from Wayne, Pennsylvania, and hopes to work at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in college and as a pediatric nurse after graduation.
Vikhyana is a second-year nursing student at the University of Pittsburgh, from Silver Spring, Maryland. She hopes to become a nurse practitioner and work in an emergency setting.
Maple is currently a junior in the University of Pittsburgh nursing program looking forward to studying abroad this summer in Switzerland. She currently works at a dermatology office and wants to continue outpatient care after graduation. Maple hopes to attend graduate school to become a nurse practitioner, specializing in pediatric or family medicine with a focus on holistic care.
Maggie is a registered nurse at UPMC Magee Women's Hospital. She graduated from Mercy School of Nursing and Ohio University. Maggie was an active member of H. G. Parkinson FFA and was award the highest degree, American Degree in 2016. She is passionate about giving back and helping people.
Brooke is a junior nursing major at the University of Pittsburgh from Rockville, MD outside of Washington, D.C. Brooke works as a patient care technician at Magee Women’s Hospital and aspires to work in women’s health as a nurse.
Victoria is a sophomore nursing major at the University of Pittsburgh from Beech Creek, Pennsylvania. At the university, she is a member of the Varsity Marching Band as a Golden Girl. Victoria aspires to become a nurse practitioner and work with patients in an ICU setting.
Rebecca is in the process of getting her nursing degree at the University of Pittsburgh. She is looking forward to making an impact with this organization.
Sophia is a freshman nursing student at the University of Pittsburgh. She is from Fairfield, Connecticut, and she likes running and playing guitar in her free time.
Hanna Seibel is a graduate from Waynesburg University with a Bachelor's in exercise science and fitness management . Now a health advocate, Hanna is passionate about giving back to the community and the wonderful women in it.
